Spiral Sand Washer
The XL Series Spiral Sand Washer separates clay, dust, stone powder and other light impurities from natural or manufactured sand using water. Single- and twin-spiral models are designed to wash, agitate, partially classify and discharge material sized 0–30 mm.
Overview
The XL Series Spiral Sand Washer is a continuous wet-processing machine for cleaning sand. Rotating spirals agitate the feed in water, increase particle-to-particle attrition and help detach clay, dust and fine impurities from grain surfaces.
The main assemblies are an inclined washing tank, one or two spiral shafts, replaceable blades, gearbox, electric motor, support bearings and discharge section. An adjustable overflow weir controls the water level and removal of suspended fines.
Single-spiral models suit medium-capacity lines, while twin-spiral models handle larger material flows. Model selection depends on feed grading, clay content, required washing intensity and hourly capacity.
The machine drains part of the free water during discharge. Where lower residual moisture is required, a dewatering screen should be installed downstream. Water-recycling layouts may also include a settling tank, hydrocyclone or filter press.
